This Chapter represents the Kissimmee Valley (Highlands, Okeechobee, Glades and Polk counties). KVAHC provides a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning fieldwork, lab work, and writing. There are fieldwork opportunities at the Blueberry site and other sites in Highlands county. Meetings include lectures by noted archaeologists and workshops to learn crafts such as pottery-making. Fieldtrips to sites and museums are taken 2-3 times yearly. The KVAHC and South Florida State College offer an honors course “Indigenous Florida” in the winter term.
